Introducing Kingdom Way
A community resource center for Torah-affirming believers in Christ
There is an awakening happening in the body of Christ to return to the fullness of the Creator’s instructions and the greater story of the gospel of the kingdom of God.
It’s not a movement following some particular leader. It’s not a denominational group with a comprehensive set of dogmas for its members. It’s not a cult with a central figure or group exercising power over its adherents. It is simply a worldwide awakening of believers (to various extents, and with various doctrinal differences) embracing the whole of the scriptures, and recognizing the relevance of the Torah (God’s instruction for mankind) and how it integrates into the gospel message and the lifestyle of believers in the Messiah today.
With that comes a challenge, though: networking. Even on the internet, as vast as it is, and as much content is out there, you just won’t find it all from a Google search, and there’s still a need for other means to discover content relevant to your faith.
So how do we solve this? There’s no single way to solve it, and there are already a lot of fantastic resources out there which help to solve it in part, but in my estimation it’s seemed like one thing that’s really needed is some kind of freely accessible, curated catalog of information — a sort of central place to browse through different kinds of online media, discover groups and events you can participate in, and find resources on biblical topics from teachers and content creators within the community.
This is something that I think could really be beneficial to a lot of people in this community. While there are a number of sites out there that have their own catalog of online resources they recommend, none that I’ve seen are looking to be comprehensive in any way, nor are they something that anyone could contribute to, which would be ideal in my opinion. While smaller, more strictly curated resource collections certainly have their place, I think there’s room for both.
After pondering what a site like this could look like for some time, I wanted to see what I could do to maybe make this a reality; and with that, I’m excited to announce the new site I’ve launched, Kingdom Way. Let’s get into it!
A community portal for kingdom seekers
Kingdom Way is a wiki (and newsletter) for discovering online content and resources in and around the community, including music, podcasts, books, and blogs, as well as fellowships, online ministries, and other content creators.
You can browse all the content available on the wiki now at kingdomway.wiki! Fairly easy to remember?
The wiki is a free, collaborative site that anyone can contribute to. We want this to be the premier, community-driven place for all believers looking to walk in the Creator’s commandments to find information and resources relevant to their faith.
Initially, the focus of the wiki will be almost exclusively on creating a catalog for content elsewhere on the internet, helping people to find beneficial content, and spreading awareness of ministries, content creators and even faith-related businesses worth knowing about.
In time, I’d love to see it expand to have guides and topical articles on a variety of biblical topics (primarily centered around the Torah and the gospel), including key passages relevant to those topics, discussion on different understandings of them, suggestions for further study, and links to related external resources (generally from sites and creators listed elsewhere in the wiki for each topic).
While we aren’t there yet, I envision a time when someone entirely new to keeping the Torah could find articles on the site for all the major topics they might wonder about (such as Sabbath, the feast days, tzittzits, or the dietary instructions), with immediate answers to many of their questions and plenty of external resources for them to look into (and compare, when they deviate from each other). More generally, it would be a quick reference for anyone to easily find information relating to observance of the Torah and other biblical topics.
As the creator of the wiki, I intend to contribute as much as I can to making it as great of a community resource as possible, but this is designed to be a community project, and the best path to success in meeting its goals will be to get as many people involved as possible. You can read through the Contributing guide to get started editing the content (once you’ve created an account).
Even if you’re not interested in editing it yourself, you can make suggestions for content we can add so someone else can work on it. If you have a ministry or create online content that would fit in with the other content in the wiki, you can add your own content so people can find it in the wiki (as long as it follows the content guidelines) — and it just might be highlighted in the newsletter as well.
For more information on the wiki, its goals, and how you can be a part of it, check out the About page and the Community Portal.
Also, you can answer a few questions in the survey below to help shape the future of this project!
A newsletter for kingdom content
In addition to the wiki itself, the Kingdom Way newsletter1 is a way to learn about news, events, and interesting content in the community, as well as get updates on the latest improvements and additions to the wiki, and ways you can help out. We may also send out occasional announcements outside of the regular issues to keep you informed.
The first issue of the Kingdom Way newsletter will be coming soon, with more information about the wiki, and a selection of content from the community to explore. I plan to release future issues on a bi-monthly basis initially, though it may move to a monthly basis if there is enough content!
If you’re excited about this wiki and want to stay up to date on everything that’s happening, or you just want to see the highlighted community content in each issue, make sure to subscribe to the newsletter for free to get issues sent directly to your inbox!
Wrapping it up
This project is just getting started, with a long ways to go and a lot of potential in my opinion, but I’m excited to get it out there, and I can’t wait to see people using it and getting value out of it!
There will be many questions to address in future issues, as well as articles in the wiki, so keep an eye out, and let me know what questions you have about the wiki or the newsletter. Also, try editing a page in the wiki and share your experience in the comments of this article. I want to make the editor experience as easy as possible to encourage people to contribute to this project.
And finally, if you’re excited about where this is going, please spread the word and let others know about it! Share the wiki, the newsletter, or this article with anyone you know who you think would be interested in using or participating in it.
Thanks for taking the time to read through this announcement. See you around the wiki!
Shalom.
The Kingdom Way newsletter is not currently a community project like the wiki is; it is a newsletter about the wiki and content in the broader community it serves, written by me and any potential contributors I may invite to help with it (though anyone is welcome to offer feedback to improve the newsletter or to include new content).
